The Air Force C-17's delivered HDRs in Support of ENDURING FREEDOM from Germany to Afghan refugees who have massed inside the borders of Afghanistan. Each C-17 carries about 17,500 HDRs packaged in 42 TRIAD boxes, measuring 80 inches tall and 48 by 48 inches square; each box is filled with 420 HDRs. In addition to the humanitarian efforts, Operation ENDURING FREEDOM is in support of the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT), fighting terrorism abroad, after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 at the New York World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
