Medium oblong bolls mature earlier, average 70-75 per pound with better storm resistance than Caro- lina Queen, but retaining the rapid open- ing and drying characteristics. Lint turnout 39 to 41%, averaging 1 1/16- 1 3 32 normally, slightly stronger and riner than Carolina Queen. Excellent seedling vigor; earlier and more efficient fruiting. The first eastern cotton with mill perform- ance comparable to California production. Produces high yields of lint of superior quality and spinnability; and commands a premium price at the mills.
