An Italian magnificent halberd, circa 1590 Slender thrusting blade of square section. The crescent-shaped guard with reinforced point, the base of the fluke with dot-shaped openwork, ending in a strong, trident claw. Finely engraved and punched decoration with depiction of landsknechts between tendrils. Struck pi mark on one side. Angular socket with two side straps, the fastening nails are missing. Original shaft with covering made from red velvet (strongly rubbed, flaws). Lavishly decorated with brass nails, the motto "IN TE DOMIN(E) SPERAVI" w, Additional-Rights-Clearance-Info-Not-Available
