Distribution: From about Magdalena Bay, Lower California, north at least to Ft. Bragg. Most common in Southern and Central California. Fishing Season: Throughout the year. Importance: With the bocaccio, the most important Central California rockfish. Minor in Northern California. One of the three leading Southern California species. Fishing Gear: Trawls, lines.
