A German rapier Early 17th century. Robust thrusting blade with short fullers, the fuller on the reverse struck with illegible wolf mark(?), further orb and crown marks on both sides of the ricasso. Sparsely chiselled iron bar hilt with small old repair and added(?) guard plate. Spiral-shaped grip with later wire binding and Turk's heads. Old non-corresponding ball pommel with baluster-shaped rivet at top.
