He took up his res-idence at Santa Rosa in that state, where he owns andconducts a large vineyard, manufacturing the grapesinto wine. Awriter for the press, who recently vis-ited him, describes him as having all the appear-ance of a dreamer and enthusiast. . His ordinary manner is slow and deliberate, but whenexpounding his views of life and the problems hebelieves he has solved, he speaks with intense ear-nestness and energy and his whole appearance ischanged.
