DIEGO (Feb. 2, 2018) Operations Specialist 2nd Class Jesse Soto holds his newborn child for the first time during the homecoming of the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6). America, part of the America Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is returning from a regularly scheduled deployment to the Western Pacific and Middle East. The Navy has patrolled the Indo-Pacific region routinely for more than 70 years promoting peace and security.
