He was alsoan accomplished young man, skilled in drawing, astute inbusiness, and very religious. He was devoted to goodworks, contributing to the building and support of hischurch, and leaving a bequest of £100 sterling toward themaintenance of the minister. The English settlers, in anattempt to regulate the Huguenot services, found that theLords Proprietors were determined to stand for liberty ofconscience and worship as demanded by Mazyck and hisfriends.
