Sterilization by steam is another simple and practical method. To insuresuccess an apparatus must be used in which all the air is expelled from thechamber by the steam and an even temperature of 100° C. (212° F.) canbe maintained throughout. Several kinds of steam-sterilizers have been recommended. One of thecheapest and most convenient is the copper sterilizer of Arnold, made byWilmot Castle & Co., Rochester, New York. (Fig. 10.)
