Emergency treatment. Paramedic treating a woman with a suspected neck injury. A rigid cervical collar (neck brace) has been placed around the woman's neck and her head is being held still by a paramedic. Both these actions will immobilise the patient's neck and spine, preventing further injury. The woman is being given oxygen through a mask.
