Both families belonged to thenobility, owned extensive estates,and had a large following. Misfor-rane overtaking the family, George Hayes left Scot-land in , and settled in Windsor, Conn. His sonGeorge way born in Windsor, and remained thereduring his life. Daniel Hayes, son of the latter, mar-ried Sarah Lee, and lived from the time of his mar-riage until his death in Simsbury, Conn.
