Andenes Space Centre just outside the town in the Vesteralen Islands, Norway. The centre regularly launches rockets to detect aurora.
The town of Andenes is is the Troms administrative district and has a long history as a fishing port. Today it is also famous as being the starting point for tourist whale watching trips.
