We ex-pected to go early in the summer, and I made great plansfor having fun with my pony, but the orders never , all of my playthings were packed in boxes, and Ihad no children with whom to play, as there is only onebaby on our reservation. Then we planned to go to a number of Chautauquas,where I was invited to make speeches in Esperanto, be-cause I am the youngest person holding an Esperanto di-ploma; and also to visit my Uncle Charlie in Seattle and recite some poems at the Exposition on Esperanto , unfortunately, a bad fever made me very ill and Icould not leave home. You can imagine how lonely most any child would havebeen in my position, but in spite of all my troubles I hadgreat happiness because I knew the universal language —Esperanto. Every day the mail brought me interesting postals andsometimes curios from children living in a
