Tokyo Disney Resort, GeoEye-1 satellite image. Located to just to the east of Tokyo, Japan, this resort consists of two theme parks plus other attractions. At lower right is Tokyo DisneySea (opened 2001), which has a nautical theme. At upper left is Tokyo Disneyland (opened 1983). Car parks and hotels surround the resort. At upper right (name on roof) is the Ikspiari shopping, entertainment and dining complex (opened 2000). Image data obtained on 1 January 2010. The GeoEye-1 satellite, launched in September 2008, orbits at a height of 680 kilometres. It is the world's highest resolution commercial Earth-imaging satellite.
