Hollins (or Hollings) Bridge no. 58 in the long deep Woodseaves cutting on the Shropshire Union Canal near Market Drayton

The Woodseaves Cutting is the longest cutting on the British canal system. Hollins bridge was built for farmers to move cattle and goods. This bridge carries Hollins Lane though the bridge is often referred to as Hollings Bridge. The sides of the cutting are very steep indeed, much steeper than would be built now given greater knowledge of soil mechanics. The result has been persistent land slips so that the cutting has required much clearance work to keep the canal and the towpath open. The cutting is a site of Special Scientific Interest because of its geology and its damp conditions also attract unusual varieties of flowers.
