There has been a bumper crop of apples this year and the harvest is being celebrated with Apple Day at Beacon Fell Country Park on Sunday, October 6. A Festival Bowland listed event, was organised by the Friends of Bowland and the Friends of Beacon Fell, who say apples are dropping onto pavements, roads, parks and gardens. Entertainment was provided by the LUDUS dance company with activities for children. Stalls with local produce, arts and crafts, apple identification and advice from experts; apples for sale.
