Family, friends and coworkers welcomed back Airmen from the 823d Base Defense Squadron during a ceremony commemorating their return, April 20, 2017, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. The 823d BDS was deployed to Southwest Asia where they provided integrated base defense and protection for local villages. The 823d BDS falls under the 820th Base Defense Group, which is the only Air Force unit that conducts integrated base defense in high-threat areas.
