Pavel Nikolayevich Yablochkov (also transliterated as Jablochkoff) (September 14 [ September 2] 1847 – March 31 [ March 19] 1894) was a Russian electrical engineer, businessman and the inventor of the Yablochkov candle (a type of electric carbon arc lamp) and the transformer.
