Calendar leaf from Sforza Hours, Whole leaf Calendar page for May. An elegantly dressed young man is seated by a rose bush and stream. A dwarf offers him a basket of fruit, and three young women proffer chaplets of roses; five youths are playing musical instruments and singing. In the background is a landscape with two peasants; one cutting grass with a scythe, and the other carrying two baskets suspended from a pole over his shoulder.
