Processional pine caterpillar nest


Processional pine caterpillar (thaumetopoea pityocampa) make cocoon style nests that hang in pine trees. Most active from January to April, most dangerous in February. They migrate from tree to tree in a nose - tail procession. Their haris cause pain rashes and shock. Domestic dogs at high risk sniffing the ground, very common to get severe eye problems.
