The work done was a distinctcredit to the Church and a fitting me-morial to the 6,000 pioneers who losttheir lives en route to the valleys ofthe mountains. He served as presi-dent of a Deacons quorum, presidentof a Teachers quorum, president ofan Elders quorum and as a counselorin the Emerson Ward bishopric twoyears. In 1914-1916 he filled a mis-sion to Great Britain, laboring prin-cipally in the Manchester the World war he served inthe A. E.
