So many lived in Kentucky that in 1792 itwas admitted to the union of states on the same terms as theoriginal thirteen. Four years later, in 1796, Tennessee wasmade the sixteenth state. ^ Ohio was added in 1803, and theremainder of the Northwest Territory was soon divided intoIndiana, Michigan, and IlUnois Territories.
