The Howitzer on Helm Crag, Grasmere, Cumbria, Lake District, England


The summit of Helm Crag, The Howitzer, also known somewhat confusingly as The Lion and the Lamb, as there is another rock formation a short distance away at the southern end of the ridge also known as The Lion and the Lamb. In the valley below is the A591, the main road between Windermere and Ambleside in the South, and Keswick to the North.
