STATUS: Endangered in Canada (official status assigned in 1984 by the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada (COSEWIC)). Threatened in Indiana; rare in Florida and Oklahoma. NOTES: Populations represented by specimens collected prior to 1965, and the more recent one on the boundary between the Regional Municipality of Haldimand-Norfolk and Elgin County, could not be relocated and have probably been extirpated. Only three viable reproducing populations are known in Canada. Other extant stands have one or a few non- reproducing individuals, or are single parent/ seedling stands of questionable natural origin. REFERENCES / SOURCES Ambrose, , & Aboud. 1983.
