Early spring in the South Downs National Park in West Sussex shows a lack of rainfall as the ground becomes parched.

Early spring and lack of rainfall shows in the dry and parched ground surrounding livestock water troughs. Situated at the bottom of Lychpole Hill (which runs towards the ancient Iron Age hill fort of Cissbury Ring) the area is mainly open farmland both arable and for livestock.
