This Volume (the third issued by this Society) of the Register ofMarriages in the Parish of St. George, Hanover Square, commenceswith the year 1810, and is carried down to the end of the year 1823. The entries of which these are copies are contained in part of thetenth volume, the whole of the eleventh and twelfth, and part of thethirteenth volume of the Registers of this Parish. During the period embraced by this Volume marriages became morefrequent at this Church, and it continued to be the chief place for themarriages of persons of distinction. No mention is made in this Preface of the many entries therein thatare of the most value to the Genealogist and Biographer, inasmuch asthey are to be found in the carefully compiled Index at the end of thebook. As in the previous Volumes, the names of witnesses, when they appearto be of interest in themselves, or to be useful for the purpose ofidentification, have been placed in the footnotes.
