Storm Petrels are nocturnal sea birds and are difficult to see. They have an extended nesting season, and nest in colonies, usually in inaccessible caves ovelooking the sea. They are very localized in the Mediterranean region. This young bird was photographed at Marettimo, an island off western Sicily
