Estuaries are truly the fish basket of the Nation. Estuaries are necessary and desirable for man's use. However, without protection based on sound scientific research, these areas can be damaged irreparably. Already, draining filling, dredging, and pollution by pesticides and chemical and human wastes have altered drastically some estuarine areas. Estuaries should be managed to benefit all. BCF works with State and Federal agencies to protect these vital natural resources.
