The best pattern should then be taken to mark therooting paper. In putting together the patterns, one soon learns the o*der in which the various steps should betaken. Thus the perch and theroof must be fastened to the pieceforming the sides before it is fast-ened into cylinder form. Thecircular piece cut out for the doormay well be used to reinforce thefront on the inside where the perchis nailed in place. The very laststep is the nailing of the completedhouse to its bottom, and this shouldnot be done until the bottom isfastened by screws or face plateto the top of the post or pipewhere the bird-house is to be per-manently placed. It will be seenfrom this that this house is in-tended only for use on top of apost, and the reason for this willbe stated later on.
