The record of the company as fire-fighters is second to none. Of recentfires it did thirteen and one half hoursduty at the Baldwin and eleven hours atMiller, Sloss and Scott. At the formerfire Truck No, 2 rescued three womenfrom the Cupola of the burning buildingand carried them safely down to terrafirma. These women were in a positionof great danger and beyond the reach ofthe fire escapes, and would inevitablyhave perished but for the timely andeffective aid of Truck No. 2. The company has a remodelled HayesTruck and it is located at 627 LIEUT. JOHN LEAHY Lieutenant Leahy was born in SanFrancisco, Cal., in 1869; joined thewards transferred to Truck No. 2, as Department in July, 1892, as extraman,foreman.
