Albert Einstein clay model. This clay model is based on Albert Einstein (photo in background) and will be used as a template for the rubber skin of a robot Albert Einstein. The Einstein robot, created by US robot designer David Hanson, is covered with a spongy polymer called 'Frubber' that is light and flexible enough to be controlled by small servo motors within the robot head. The Einstein robot contains motion detecting and speech recognition sensors that send signals to an external computer running artificial intelligence software. The computer reacts by controlling 33 servo motors within the robot head which produce life-like facial expressions. Photographed in 2007.
