The mode of using the pastille mould will be sufficiently obvious;the mass being run into cylinders of appropriate size is pressed be-tween the brass cutting surfaces and completely divided into twenty-four cones of the required shape. The mode of using pastilles is to place a piece of glazed paper overa glass of water and to stand the pastille upon it when igniting soon as it is sufficiently consumed it will burn a hole through thepaper and be extinguished by falling into the water.
