Japanese apple rose hips (Rosa rugosa). The rose hips (red, round) are the fruit of the rose plant. This plant, also known as Hedgehog rose or Turkestan rose, is native to eastern Asia but is commonly grown in gardens. It often escapes into the wild where it can become a major nuisance.
