Ebola virus transcription factor fragment. Molecular model of the C-terminal domain (CTD) of Ebola virus transcription factor VP30. This region of VP3

Ebola virus transcription factor fragment. Molecular model of the C-terminal domain (CTD) of Ebola virus transcription factor VP30. This region of VP30 is being studied because it is hoped that drugs can be designed that will inhibit this region and prevent the virus from spreading. Ebola is a tropical haemorrhagic fever that can be fatal in humans. It can be contracted by handling material from infected animals or through contact with bodily fluids of infected patients. Symptoms include high fever, bleeding and central nervous system damage. There is currently no cure.
