Aberystwyth, Wales, UK. 16th January 2013. BBC Wales and welsh language performing rights group EOS are still unable to agree terms for the broadcasting of welsh music on the national radio and television channels. Having split away from the UK Performing Rights Society (PRS) the welsh body have been attempting to negotiate new, higher, fees for the broadcasting rights to over 30,000 songs by Welsh language singers and groups. Since January 1 2013 the BBC in Wales have been unable to play this music, and have broadcast classical music and hymns, and cut back on the hours of daily radio output.
