16/07/13 The Hanging Gardens of……Derby! With tomorrow forecast to be the hottest day for many years, Carol (67) and Fred (69), Whaley will be on extra watering duties to keep their suburban semi-detached looking incredible. This year over one thousand plants are in full bloom at the front of their home - hanging in baskets pots and barrels only a few miles from Derby city centre. "They're bigger and more beautiful than ever before", said Carol. The couple have been growing a huge variety of begonias, geraniums, trailing petunias and fusias for the last fifteen years.
