Henshaw. Esq., and is his home. John Henshaw and his son Nicholas also built a log srist mill and a. Henshaw Mill—1828. saw mill. The settlement was a kind of center. The log mill was re-placed in 1828 by a large stone mill by Levi Henshaw, Sr., a pictureof one end of the mill is here given, which is now in ruins. The fol-lowing is copied from the Gerardstown Times of 1900: Old Stones in New stones of which the new entrance to the Presbyterian church Historical Magazine. 155 was built were donated by E. S. Henshaw, whose timely and durablegift is highly appreciated. These stones formed part of the walls ofthe old Henshaws Mill, about three miles from this place, whichwas so well known throughout this section of the country for manyyears and was recently torn down by Mr. Henshaw. •This mill was built by Mr. Levi Henshaw, a grand uncle of thepresent owner, and was erected about the year It took the placeof a log mill, upon nearly the same site put up many years beforeby another ancestor of the family. As at the old mill for so many years
