ICKES-BRAUN MILL CO. 2330 Wabansia Avenue, Near Wettem ud Nortii knu CHICAGO, ILL. Greenhouse Material, Greenhouse Hard^vare, Permanite, Paint, etc fall trade has been the largest in the firm's history, wedding orders being specially heavy. Nerines are great fa- vorites among cut flowers here. Some splendid pot mums with two large speci- men flowers per pot were noted, as well as some grand plants of Draca;na Mas- sangeana. At the Symphony Flower Shop, Hunt- ington avenue near Horticultural hall, the store is kept most attractive, and courteous treatment of customers is building up an excellent business in this rapidly growing section of the city. Mr. Saunders, many years with Wax Bros., is a most efficient manager. John McFarland, of North Boston, is bringing in a fine lot of lily of the valley, as well as excellent Bonnaffon, Chieftain and White Chieftain chrysan- themums. Peter Hylan, of Randolph, is just completing a new greenhouse, 32x102, which he will plant with sweet peas as a starter. He has boxed over 120,000 bulbs, mainly narcissi. These include 10,000 King Alfred, which come in well about the end of January. Golden Feather, a light bronze-colored pompon, is heavily grown by W. R. Nicholson, of Framingham, and, dis- budded, sells remarkably well in the market at present. The address of Saunders' Gardens is North Scituate, R. I., and not North Scituate, Mass., as was stated in The Review for August 28. There will be several practical orchid talks at the Gardeners' and Florists' Club meeting November 21. Nomina- tions of officers will be made
