Bender, Moldova, the Heldenfriedhof


, Bender, Transnistria, Moldova - The Heldenfriedhof, built in 1920, now serves mainly 5170 Russian fallen soldiers from various wars of the Tsar era in the 19th century. Transnistria is a repulsive Moldovan republic under Russian influence east of the river Dnister. The region split in 1990 from Moldova and is and is not recognized by any other country. Even the Russia-dependent structures are known as the Transdnestrovian Moldavian Republic (Pridnestrovkaja Moldavskaja Respublika / PMR).
