ATHEROMA
An atheroma is a lipid deposit in blood vessels, mainly composed of cholesterol. It can trigger the formation of a blood clot, also known as thrombus, which may obstruct the blood vessel. An infarction is a blood clot that blocks blood flow. Here, cross-section of aorta.
