Breton,Sr. The Kales are more hardy than Cabbage, and make ex- cellent greens for winter and spring use, and are improved by frost. Sow from May to June, and cultivate the same as Cabbage. For early spring use sow in September, and protect during winter. Sea Kale is much esteemed in England, in some parts of which it grows spontaneously. Sow the seed early in the spring, in well-manured and deeply-dug ground, 1 inch deep, and the rows 2 feet apart; thin "out to stand 6 inches in the rows ; before winter cover with litter or leaves, and the next spring transplant in hills 3 feet apart each way. A supply may be had all winter by planting the roots closely together in a warm cellar before frost. Dwarf Curled German. Leaves yellowish-green, finely fringed ; sow in September for winter and early firing use. Pkt. 5 cts., oz. 10 cts., i lb. 30 cts. Norfolk Curled. A favorite among our market garden- ers; spreading under good cultivation to 3 feet in diameter ; leaves bright green and beautifullv curled. Pkt. 5 cts., oz. 10 cts., i lb. 30 cts. D. Scotch.
