Compared with Neohipparion whitneyi the skull is proportionally shorter, especially in the region of the muzzle, and relatively less in vertical depth. The palate is moderately arched, being especially high forward of the premolars, a character observed in all the zebra skulls compared, and the maxillaries are deeply constricted in this region.
