France Paris, Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral - The cathedral was consecrated to the Virgin Mary and is considered to be one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture. On 15 April 2019 the cathedral caught fire, destroying the spire and the "forest" of oak roof beams supporting the lead roof and it is still undergoing restoration.
