1930 World boxing championship - Phil Scott is counted out having being defeated by Stribling. On the 28th July 1930 heavyweight American boxer Young Stribling ( William Lawrence 'Strib' Stribling Jr. (1904 – 1933) knocked out British heavyweight Phil Scott (Philip Scott Suffling ( 1900 -1983) at Wimbledon stadium in front of a crowd of 45,000 spectators. Stribling died aged 28 following a motorcycle accident.
