Peninsular Square on the Greenwich peninsular showing Ravensbourne College, The Peninsula Spire and some office buildings.
Peninsula Square in a spectacular new contemporary public space for London; the Square, equivalent in size to Leicester Square, is expected to attract people who will be living and working at Greenwich Peninsula, as well as hundreds of thousands of visitors to The O2. There will be cafes, restaurants and shops and a venue for special events and performances around the Square, making it a buzzing, exciting place to visit. Features of the square include a 3-storey high Performance Wall which has a blue coloured glass curtain-wall facade, centred with hand made glass panels and lit internally with 6,000 colour-changing LEDs. A 45m high stainless steel spire which gives the square a visual anchor. The 'growing' green wall, designed to provide a green connection between the busy square and calmer riverfront. The Peninsula Spire, a 45-metre twisting stainless steel sculpture is in the foreground of this image.
