The imperfectly described Gerres carinatus Alleyne and Macleay,based on 2 examples about 75 mm long, may be this species, thoughit is described with larger scales: Depth 3; head 3. Pectoral little longer than caudal or 3 incombined head and body to caudal base. Bright silvery, withnumerous black spots irregularly disposed over the back and pale.
