LEAFLET DROPPING OVER GERMAN LINES IN THE LAST WAR. - In the 1914/18 war, as in this one, propaganda leaflets were dropped by balloon and aircraft over the german lines. Here is a picture from the Great War battlefront, showing aleaflet distribution unit at work. The balloons then were made of gastight paper and measured when fully inflated 20 feet in circumference and 8 feet in height. Each distribution unit consisted of two motor lorries which took the men, cylinders of hydrogen, balloons and leaflets to a release position predetermined by the meteorological experts.
