Prehistoric cave paintings, Chauvet, France. These cave paintings of various animals are found in the Chauvet Cave, France. This is the site of the earliest known cave paintings (as of 2011). They have been dated to between 32,900 and 30,000 years ago. This cave painting shows a rhinoceros; several species inhabited prehistoric Europe.
