PHOTO:JEFF GILBERT Wednesday 29th May 2024 HMS wellington keep the ship afloat, requires constant maintenance and inspection. Floating astride the Victoria Embankment, by Temple Station HMS Wellington has been moored here since 1948 after serving as a convoy ship during World War Two. Pictures shows Cindy Sheehan, the ancestor and great niece of Marian Cooper who was saved by HMS Wellington in 1940 from the Atlantic Ocean when her ship was hit by a torpedo.
