Later hewas ordained a Seventy by H. , and he was ordained g^ HighPriest and Bishop Oct. 23, 1893, by Jo-seph F. Smith, and set apart to act asBishop of Dayton Ward, in the OneidaStake of Zion. This position he isoccupying at the present time. FARMER, Erastus G., Bishop ofthe Clifton Ward, Oneida county, Ida-ho, is the son of Edward John Farmerand Elizabeth E. Wright, and wasborn at Florence, Nebraska, June 29,1861, his parents being then on theirjourney to Utah. He was baptized in. Herriman by Bishop James Cranewhen about nine years old, ordained tothe various grades of the Priesthoodand called on a mission to the SouthernStates at the April conference, 1883. Heleft home May 15th of that year, andwas appointed to labor in North Caro-lina, where he baptized nine personsand also assisted in organizing a newbranch of the Church in Mitchell coun-ty. He was mobbed several times; re-turned home Oct. 26, 1885. Immediatelyon his return home he was called to la-bor as a home missionary in the SaltLake Stake, which office he filled near-ly four years. Dec. 2, 1886, he was or-dained a Seventy by Wm. H. Freemanand became identified with the 95thquorum. He married Mary Ellen Holtin the Logan Temple, Jan. 12, 1887, and lived at Herriman and South Jordanuntil the fall of 1892, when he movedto Clifton, Idaho. July 26
